Panasonic OLED Television Campaign
Tapping into the consumer insight that OLED televisions are primarily purchased for watching sport, Panasonic Ambassador and All Black Beauden Barrett was used to launch the Panasonic OLED into New Zealand.
As the televisions are known for producing deep, true blacks and bright colours, we imagined Beauden Barrett, showing his ‘true colours’ on the field by overcoming a squad of ‘fake’ Beauden’s. In the process creating a visually stunning display of colours and blacks as proof of the Panasonic OLED technology.
My team and I worked with Digipost and Director Matt Homes to create the TVC and I developed print and digital extensions as well as in-store POS. The campaign ran across the Rugby World Cup and Panasonic had their best year to date across its TV range.
1. The scene opens on Beauden Barrett stepping forward on a rugby field to face his opponents.
2. As his opponents come out of the mist, we see they are all clones of Beauden Barretts.
3. We can see something is amiss with them. Their colours are not quite right and pixels are missing.
4. They try to stop Beauden as he races forward. As he tackles the clones they explode into pixels.
5. Eventually Beauden breaks through and touches down on the pitch to score a try.
6. The TVC ends with the pitch fading into the product image. Campaign slogan appears.
